Hello fellow members I’m looking for a recommendation for front shocks for my 56 merc mon tclair. I just want a smooth ride not anything for performance. Also how do I adjust my steering box? There is a nut on top that you loosen but the bolt down the middle of it doesn’t have anything to turn.(Usually its a slotted head or hex)

I would definitely use KYB shocks . Should be the same as a 56 Tbird. Have them on my Bird and the car does not dip going into a turn improved handling . When my Mercury needs them will change mine .

Send your email address to me at 50scars@frontier.com, and I’ll copy the pages from the service manual and send them back to you. Just twisting on that top nut will make things worse, not better.
