Secondary brake return spring availability

    When Ford introduced the use of ball joints in 1954, the design of the front brakes was changed. An eccentric and a secondary return spring were added. The spring was missing from my brakes and I cannot find a replacement. Anyone know of a possible source?

    Or is it likely that this spring is not essential and I should give up trying to find it?
