68 parklane power window

looking for help on this one, I replaced the beltline weatherstrip, 68 parklane convertible on passenger door, it was necessary to loosen the vent window assy to access the screws holding the outboard (rubber) trim off door. everything mounted fine on reassembly. however power window does not go up on its own, have to pull it up while applying the button. tried remfg motor thinking the one that was on the car was weak(was a replacement by prior owner). new one acted same way. any ideas to try prior to using fire on the car?!? thx brian
