    need to replace the steering column detent, Mercury shop manual doesn’t show this repair.
    I could use repair instructions.
    Also could use the part number for the detent, or a vendor where I might purchase it.

    I take it you have a automatic on the column. I was always under the impression that the detent was set at the transmission , with an adjustment to the linkage. Let me check my manuals and if I find something I will let you know .
