I need power steering hoses for my 60 Park Lane. Too many manufacturers can’t tell me if the hoses are for a belt-driven or crank-driven pump. Also, does the 430 have a Vickers pump or an Eaton pump?
Do you have the old hoses? If that is all that you need, most hydraulic repair shops can build the hoses for you. As to which pump your Merc has I have no idea. I think I saw on the show “Fantomworks” that they had done a repair on a Lincoln from this era that involved the power steering pump. It was driven by the crank shaft and was impossible to get the proper parts. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Yes, thank you! You’ve been very helpful! I know one option is to have the old ones rebuilt. They are still on the car, but they leak. I’m safe driving the car, but I must continually check the fluid levels. Places that handle the rebuild have a ridiculous turn-around time, so I figured if I can find the hoses, that will save me time. I do know that the 430 is crank-driven, but nowhere is it shown exactly which pump it has, therefore dictating the kind of hoses I should use. I have the chance to buy NOS hoses, but I don’t want to waste money on something I can’t use and the dealer doesn’t know. Yes, I saw that show with the ’60 Lincoln! Thanks again for your input!
