Anyone have a source for a oil pressure sending unit for a 1956 Mercury (312 with dash gauge). Or in the alternative, does anyone know of a substitute sender used on other vehicles that would work with the factory gauge? Some work around as a substitute?

I would check with any good parts supplier for Ford parts. I looked at Napa’s website and also Dennis Carpenter. Both show oil pressure sending units for a ’56.

Thanks for response and I appreciate the suggestions. I have checked a number of sources including the two mentioned without success to date. The senders I have been able to locate are all for idiot lights. I bought the NAPA one some time back based on a counterman’s assurances it was for a gauge but found with testing it was a on-off idiot light sender. I think NAPA’s cataloging is conflating 56 and later Fords which did have idiot lights and 56 Mercurys with gauges.
