<p class=”MsoNormal”>I just acquired a very low miles 368 CID 290 HP engine from
a 1957 Turnpike Cruiser. Along with its original automatic transmission.
I got the motor with intentions of installing it in a Model A hot rod. I am
sure that the trans is good but a hot rod needs to be a 3 pedal car. Were
there any ford bell housings and flywheels to fit these? Is there
anything in particular you or anyone else can tell me that would help with my
search. I really would like to use a Borg Warner T5 5 speed or similar
trans that I can get from a bone yard to give me an overdrive.
This is all new territory to me as I usually tinker about with Chevy I6 and
small V8 engines. By the way I am a machinist and welder so anything that
works with a little massaging is doable for me.

Mike I read in one of my Hemmings mags about the m335 which was a 57 monterey with a 368 c.i. motor with a 3 speed and they said it was a truck transmission. they only built 100 of these cars for the street. a guy by the name Bill Strope and Hallman of the famous Hallman and Moody Ford Racing built the 368 for nascar and held thier own. You can find articals on the m335 on the internet. Hope this helps
