I have a 54 Monterey with a 256 Y block engine. I just had the motor rebuilt and she’s running great. However, I lose so much oil that I really can’t run her very far. I cannot find any leaks, no oil pools under her. I understand that year had a flaw with the design wherein the oil would blow out of the breather tube and that’s what it appears to me the problem. Does anyone have a “fix” to this problem? Or is it something that I’m not seeing?
are you talking about the oil filler tube that comes out of the valley cover or the blow by tube under the engine?

I apologize for taking so long to answer your post. I don’t get on the computer very often. The problem I’m having appears to be the blowby tube under the engine. I will try to check the site more often and appreciate any assistance you may be able to give. You may also text me at 361 491-0225 if you wish. This is the only major problem I’m having right now.
