I just acquired my sweet ’57 TPC and wanted to know if there’s a place (either here or on another site) where I can decode the VIN plate (see info below).

I know the WA means it was made in the WAYNE, MI plant and obviously the 290 is the HP.  Any insight on the other numbers?

    Thanks! ~ Jennfier.

Jennfier,  In reference to your VIN plate, I have a question for you.  After the BAE75A which indicates your car is a 4 door Turnpike.  On the same line as that number on your plate there should be a Body specif number.  It would look something like this:  01-752-L-24-1.  This number will give you the paint color, interior, day and month info.

I have a book that shows all that information.  Not sure about the fender tag number at this time.  Need to read a little more.  If you let me know I will try to help.
