I’m replacing the fuel lines on my 54 Monterey and I’m having trouble routing the front line – the one that goes from the frame rail under the driver’s door to the short flexible line at the fuel pump. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to get this sucker in place?

Are you using a pre-bent line or are you starting with a straight piece?

    Pre-bent from Classic Tube.

I looked up the part number on Classic Tube web site, and in the online book it reads for 54 Merc. When you type in their part number it comes up as a fuel line for a 51 Merc. Does the actual part look correct?

Are you using the OEM soft gas line that screws into the fuel pump?

Part looks correct. It has bends for around the frame rail, steering box, and front suspension.

Yes, I’m using the flex line from fuel pump to rigid line I’m trying to replace.
