I am restoring a 1949 Merc Convertilbe that my father-in-law purchased brand new in 1948. Although all the paint is gone from it I have the original purchase agreement. The color of the car was lima tan. We have been able to match it but the color is not like any I have seen on any brochures or model cars that I’ve seen on ebay or on any other web site. Can anyone tell me about the color lima tan or have a picture of a lima tan merc?
By the way, anyone wanting to see the progress of my car can go to

A great tool for seeing paint colors for your car is a free web site http://autocolorlibrary.com
Seclect the make and the year and the paint chip colors are right at your finger tips!

Thanks Jerry. I looked it up but the chips are so small it makes it hard to judge the color. If anyone has a color picture of a Merc painted Lima Tan I would sure appriciate seeing it. On the Eary Ford V-8 club forum there was a similar discussion from soneone else who said that there were very few Merc’s painted that color.

Just click on the color chart and it is magnified 4-5 times the size and is easy to view!

Just click on the color chart and it is magnified 4-5 times the size
and is easy to view! Then place your cursor on the color and it is again magnified even larger!
